Vishwakarma Institute of Technology Pune

		Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune Team named, “HAWK 1.0”, bagged the most prestigious award of “THE BEST TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION” i.e. for the Technology Innovation award in first position in JK Tyre SAE BAJA 2010 held at Pithampur, M.P. from 29th to 31^st January 2010 under the guidance of Prof. S.P. Komble.
		Mr. Pratik Unkule, student of T.E., Mechanical received “SAEINDIA Foundation scholarship” from SAEINDIA Western Section.
		Miss. Prajakta Dewalekar, student of B.E. Mechanical was selected for Cummins India Limited under “Young managers Development Program” during HR meet of BAJA SAEINDIA 2010 competition held at Pithampur.
		A team of four students Varun Garg, Abhijit Panhale and Mahesh Palkrutwar from Mechanical Engineering and Miss. Prasha Sarwate a Chemical Engineering student from Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, Pune participated in the event “Laws of Motion” in KSHITIJ 2010 at IIT, Kharagpur from 28^th January to 31^st January 2010 and successfully won the title of “BEST DESIGNED AIRCRAFT”.
		Nihal Bahulikar S.E., Instrumentation won 2 prizes securing 1^st & 2^nd position in 2 events in COEP-ZEST (2010)- Swimming Competition held from 22^nd to 26^th January 2010.
		Nihal Bahulikar S.E. Instrumentation, won 2^nd position in MIT Summit (2009) – Swimming held from 30^th September to 4^th October 2010
		Nihal Bahulikar S.E. Instrumentation won Best Swimmer Award, 4 gold, 2 silver awards in Cummins College of Engg. - Swimming Competition - Pentacle (2010) from 18^th to 21^st February 2010
		Nihal Bahulikar S.E. Instrumentation won 3 awards securing 3rd position in 3 events in Pune City Zone Inter Collegiate Sports 2009
		Rohan Chhajed, Aadish Sardesai, Tanuj Bhedasgaonkar, Rounak Mundada were the Lawn Tennis team members who participated in Inter Collegiate Tennis Tournament organised by Fergusson College, Pune on 18^th & 19^th November 2009 and secured the Runners up position.

Achievements in Cultural Activities

		Prizes won in year 2009-10 – a) Purushottam Karandak – 3^rd prize with 4 individuals in acting and Direction b) 4^th prize in street dance competition in Mood Indigo organized by I.I.T., Powai c) 1^st prize in Firodiya Karandak with 18 individuals
		Won international dance competition organized by UNESCO, at Pune in June 2009.
		Won general championship in Vedant, Verve
		Total number of students participated in cultural activities inside and outside college are around 350.

Individual Achievements

Ms.Chaitrali Amrutkar (Comp. Engg.) - Selected for Maharashtra team to represent in 24th Senior National Net ball tournament and also selected for University of Pune Basket-ball and Net ball team for the year 2004-05.

Vishwajeet Dangat (Second Year Electronics Engineering) - represented state level Rifle shooting competition and won silver medal for the same during - 2005-06 and 2004-05.

Kunal Garje (First year Engineering) represented state level athletics championship and won 2nd place in 400 metres hurdles 2005-06.

Shrikant Mundhe (First year Engineering) selected to represent in under 17 Maharashtra Cricket Team for Vijay Merchant Trophy 2005-06.
