Department of Industrial & Production Engineering was established in 1984 by offering undergraduate programme in Industrial Engineering, subsequently undergraduate programme in Production Engineering was started in 1999. These autonomous programmes are affiliated to University of Pune, recognised by Govt. of Maharashtra & All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) New Delhi. The programmes of Industrial Engineering and Production Engineering have been accriedited by National Board of Accreditated, New Delhi.

The department is also running post graduate autonomous programme affiliated to Pune University in Industrial Engineering since 2004. The department has also been recongnized as Research centre in the field of Industrial Engineering since 2006 by University of Pune.

Industrial Engineering is applicable to improve the efficiency and performance in Industry and Service sectors. Production Engineering course having a wide scope in manufacturing and automation field. The Department faculties are rich in Industry and teaching experience. They impart a rich blend of hands-on and theoretical knowledge to the students. The teaching faculty is having rapport with prestigious institutions such as NITIE, I.I.T. (Mumbai) Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering, Indian Institution of Production Engineering as well as Institution of Cost & Works Accountants of India.

The Department utilizes a wide range of teaching methods from classroom lectures, Industrial visits; Guest lectures .The Department having well rapport with industry and service sector for sponsored projects and assignments.
